Virtualware Awards Grants to UCLA, IIT Chicago, and UNCG to Drive Innovation and Economic Development

Orlando, FL — November 17, 2025 — Virtualware (EPA: ALVIR), a pioneer in 3D-driven enterprise software solutions, announces the recipients of the VIROO & HTC Vive University Grant Program: the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT Chicago), and University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).

The University Grant Program supports U.S. institutions engaged in applied research and academic programs in digital engineering and digital twins, industrial innovation, and workforce development.

The grant will enable each university to establish a state-of-the-art XR-enabled collaboration and innovation center and the VIROO cloud platform.  These centers will be provided with hardware infrastructure, software tools, and professional support services. Each university will also implement a “shared-access” model, offering local industry and government organizations access to resources at no cost to promote collaboration across the ecosystem to pursue joint applied research and workforce development initiatives.

VIROO is a ready-to-run XR solution that grants companies and institutions worldwide easy access to immersive technology—no extensive training or coding skills required. Covering the entire Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) cycle, from concept and design to development and launch, VIROO supports the entire business process.

These centers will operate as connected nodes within the VIROO Cloud ecosystem, enabling real-time collaboration, shared content, and remote participation across regions.

This initiative expands Virtualware’s established presence in education. The company has partnered with universities and training centers worldwide to bring immersive technology into classrooms and research labs. Building on recent commitments— including a six-year, 5 million contract with Spain’s Ministry of Education for educational innovation—this grant program creates collaborative hubs where academia, industry, and government can work together to advance XR adoption and workforce development.
