Virtualware’s VIROO Powers the New Hub of Industrial Innovation in Spain
Last week, the President of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno, inaugurated the Cádiz Advanced Manufacturing Center (CFA), a landmark facility representing an investment of more than €18 million and poised to become the new epicenter of industrial innovation in Andalusia, southern Spain.
With 1,700 square meters of state-of-the-art equipment and laboratories, the CFA has been conceived as a meeting point for companies, universities, and technology centers, enabling them to accelerate the development of next-generation industrial projects.
At the heart of this innovation ecosystem stands Virtualware’s VIROO XR platform, selected by the CFA as a strategic technology to drive Andalusia’s industrial transformation. Installed within Navantia’s facilities, Spain’s leading reference in the naval industry, the immersive room powered by VIROO provides an enterprise-grade collaborative environment where companies can simulate real operations, validate processes, and train teams in virtual scenarios—cutting costs, improving safety, and dramatically reducing development cycles. With its advanced virtualization capabilities, the CFA strengthens its role as a catalyst for technology transfer and a hub where industry, academia, and research converge to drive innovation.
“We chose VIROO because it gives us solid support in our commitment to driving industry development. What really makes it valuable is that it creates an environment where we can test, validate, and refine new technologies before moving them into production. Its scalability, flexibility, and collaborative approach turn it into a key tool to speed up innovation in the industry,” said Francisco Javier Romalde, Operations Director at the CFA.

Virtualware has already demonstrated its ability to transform manufacturing through immersive technology. A clear example is in Canada’s Battery Boost program, administered by Invest WindsorEssex with delivery support from NextStar Energy, where Virtualware provides the technology backbone with VIROO. Through advanced VR training, the program prepares participants for careers in EV battery manufacturing, offering hands-on modules in cell assembly, safety, quality assurance, and production line operations.
Battery Boost is backed by more than $3.8 million in funding from Upskill Canada and powered by Palette Skills with support from the Government of Canada
