CEL and Conetic open the first GAMELabsNET Lab for testing visual and immersive technologies in Madrid, Spain.

  • GameLabsNet revolutionizes companies’ digital transformation by providing them with a physical space for testing real solutions applied to their businesses.
  •  The application of virtual reality technologies, simulators, augmented reality, and gamified platforms will advance businesses’ design, production, and workforce training processes

The Spanish Logistics Center (CEL) and CONETIC (Spanish Confederation of Information Technology, Communication, and Electronics Companies) have opened in Madrid the first GAMELabsNET laboratory in Spain. This innovation center aims to serve more than 700 companies to experiment with the most innovative technologies and improve their decision-making when promoting Spain’s business and social fabric digital transformation.

The opening ceremony counted with the presence of the Mayor of Coslada Ángel Viveros Gutiérrez, the General Director of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence of the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Mr Salvador Estevan Martínez, and the Deputy Director of Digital Economy of Red.es, Mr José Ignacio Sanchez Valdérrez.

Thanks to these innovation labs, companies will be able to experiment and apply immersive technologies, simulation, visual intelligence, and gamification technologies to develop products and services. Some of the applications, for example, could contribute to the virtualization and monitoring of industrial plants, the creation and data analysis of digital twins, and the realization of specialized hard and soft skill training simulation modules for dive scenarios.

CONETIC and CEL both organizations will energize the initiative by making their GAMELabsNET lab network available to any company that wants to participate in this ecosystem. In addition, companies will be able to access training services, individual and pilot consultancy, and organize events and sectorial conferences, among other activities.

“The main purpose of this project is to boost the innovation ecosystem around these technologies and bring supplier companies closer to potential users. This way, it contributes to the digitization of the industry and the business fabric, enabling small companies to respond to the challenges of large companies”

Ramón García, Director de Innovación y Proyectos de CEL

“the lab’s purpose is to address two main objectives: first “to bring technological solutions closer to companies and facilitate their knowledge through experimentation, a more effective step to help them in their digital transformation processes, and second, to promote R&D&I among the companies developing these solutions, giving them the possibility of discovering synergies between them, which strengthen cooperation to address the most ambitious commercial challenges, which are normally reserved for larger companies”

Tomás Castro Alonso, CONETIC President

GAMELabsNET Madrid is the first of its six lab locations to constitute a robust network responding to the innovation demands of interoperable international sectors in Spain (Madrid and Bilbao), Portugal, and France.

The labs’ virtual platform, equipped physical locations, and network is powered by Virtualware’s VIROO XR platform and services enabling GAMELabsNET to operate this unique and extensive ecosystem allowing for the creation, management, and deployment of immersive technologies at scale.
